My Childhood

I fell in love with game development the moment I stepped into the world of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. The immersive environments, rich storytelling, and attention to the smallest details left a lasting impression on me—especially the Ice Dungeon from Majora’s Mask, which still stands as my favorite level to this day.

Journey to Programming

My journey into programming began as a teenager when my Mom enrolled me in a game development class. There, I created my first playable game using RPG Maker 2000. That experience ignited a passion that has only grown since. I went on to explore RPG Maker XP (learning Ruby), and later RPG Maker MV and MZ (learning JavaScript), creating several small games that helped me refine both my programming logic and level design skills.

First Steps into Unreal Engine 5

Eventually, I transitioned to Unreal Engine 5 after realizing that multiplayer functionality was beyond the scope of RPG Maker. I spent a year diving deep into tutorials—building inventory systems, experimenting with gameplay mechanics, and uncovering the full depth of what Unreal has to offer. The sheer flexibility and power of the engine captivated me and pushed me to explore even further.

Formal Education - Full Sail University

To formalize my education, I enrolled at Full Sail University in the Game Development program, where I'm now approaching graduation. My time at Full Sail has been transformative, thanks in no small part to the incredible faculty. Instructors like Matthew Garcia (Project and Portfolio III), Will Jensen (Project and Portfolio I), Bob Pasekoff (Programming for Interactive Technology I), and Phillip Marunowski (Programming for Interactive Technology II) played a pivotal role in shaping my development as a programmer. Their enthusiasm, mentorship, and dedication to both the craft and their students have had a profound impact on me.

The Present

Now, I’m excited to bring imaginative worlds to life and contribute to meaningful projects as a game developer.
